I was b
orn a poor black child…not really, but I do love that line and the humor that comes from some of the older comedies like The Jerk, (the movie that this opening line comes from). With that and a bit more information, it would be easy to figure out that I might be about 50 years old.
My wife and I have been married for 30 years and have 3 grown children who have blessed us with 6 and (one on the way) grandkids. We also have 2 dogs that think that they are human. We both like to ride motorcycles, traveling and spending time sleeping, when we are not awake.
I enjoy fishing, golf, and I am a huge Gamecocks and Braves fan.
I have been in the ministry for 17 years and pastor of The Body for going on 8 years. I finished my Masters and although I am still working toward my Doctorate, I feel as though I am smart enough and may never finish it. Okay, that is not true but I need an excuse for it taking so long to finish.
God called me into the ministry after I had served 9 years in the Navy, owned my own business, and worked for many people that I did not want to work for. God has been my best boss ever. I have worked for Him with youth, as an associate pastor, and for the last 12 years as a senior pastor.
The Body is the church that I have always dreamed of serving as pastor. The people are real, the ministry is real, and God has truly blessed me to be here.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally invite you to join us for any of our activities at The Body.
